The gate to the monastery of St. Joachim and Sta. Anna, which is the site of the Blessed Virgin Mary's Nativity according to the Greek-Orthodox tradition.
Mary's parents are said to be St. Anne and St. Joachim, of Jerusalem. According to a 12th century tradition they lived in Sephoris, near Nazareth, in the Galilee. Therefore, the Franciscan Church in Sephoris was named after Anna and Joachim.
